Sizing Chart for External Breast Prosthesis size

Finding the correct size for a breast prosthesis can be quite tricky as each mastectomy and body shape is unique. The chart is a guide to help find an approximate size to start.

Firstly, the most important component of fitting an external breast prosthesis is to have the correct bra fitted. A correctly fitted bra is essential to attain the best fitting for a breast prosthesis. The bra has to fit snugly around the body & have a good tension over the shoulder to hold the prosthesis in place. When you have a good fitting bra & the correct prosthesis, your shoulders and neck should be aligned and the symmetry will come back to your shape.

Each breast prosthesis has a different shape, texture and drape. There can also be a difference in the  fullness of the drape with certain styles being a little shallower than others. All of these subtle differences come into play when fitting an external breast prosthesis.

Find your correctly fitted bra size by using the cup size (A, B, C, D, DD, E, F, G) and body size ( 10, 12, 14 etc.) then run your finger down to find the approximate size of the breast prosthesis.
